Complex proces

Het recyclen van kleding is lang niet zo makkelijk als het lijkt. Het is erg complex, met name door de grote verscheidenheid aan grondstoffen die gebruikt worden in de productie van textiel, zoals katoen, polyester, polyamide, nylon, rayon, viscose, bamboo, elasthan etc. Deze grondstoffen worden vaak gemixt om een mooie, glanzende of sterke stof te krijgen en in gebruikte kledingstukken zitten ook vaak vlekken, zeepresten etc. die het recyclen lastiger maken.

Daardoor weten recycle bedrijven niet exact wat er op dat moment gerecycled wordt en welke samenstelling de stof aan het eind van het recycle proces heeft, wat bij elke recycle run ook weer anders is.

Daarom wordt vaak nog gedowncycled naar een vilt-achtige stof, die vervolgens gebruikt kan worden voor hoedenplanken, isolatie etc.. Frankenhuis is hierin onze partner die dit voor onze klanten kan realieseren. Zij bieden tevens een uniek specialisme in het veilig verwerken van textielmaterialen. Door deze vertrouwelijke verwerking wordt gegarandeerd dat deze materialen niet meer in omloop komen en dus geen enkel risico vormen voor de klant die deze kleding heeft afgestaan.

Samenwerking

SA Wear werkt samen met een initiatief van onze leveranciers TDV Industries en Klopman International, die als eerste een complete recycle fabriek hebben opgezet voor bedrijfskleding in Frankrijk onder de naam Renaissance. Zij recyclen bedrijfskleding terug naar een product waarmee garens gesponnen kunnen worden voor de bedrijfskleding markt. Het proces is echt gericht op van bedrijfskleding naar bedrijfskleding. Maar wel naar een dermate hoge kwaliteit stof zodat het kledingstuk dat hieruit geproduceerd wordt ook lang meegaat. Vooralsnog kan er slechts een deel gerecyclede garens in nieuwe stoffen verwerkt worden om een kwalitatief goede stof te garanderen.

Het proces begint met het verzamelen van gebruikte bedrijfskleding. Deze kleding wordt ingezameld bij een depot van SA Wear. Vervolgens worden de kledingstukken gesorteerd op materiaal en kleur.

Vervolgens worden de kledingstukken versnipperd met behulp van speciale machines. Deze machines versnipperen de kleding in kleine stukjes, waardoor de vezels die in de kleding zitten bloot komen te liggen.

De versnipperde kledingstukken worden vervolgens via een slim proces verwerkt tot vezels. Deze vezels kunnen worden gebruikt om garen te maken.
